FAQ
When do applications open and where can I apply?
Applications are available in the first four weeks of the Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters and are due at 11:59 p.m. on Friday of Week 4. Applications are available on the UCLA English Department website.
I have questions about my eligibility for membership, who should I ask?
Please reach out to English undergraduate advisors Stephanie Bundy or Janel Munguia via the MyUCLA Message Center.
I have submitted my application - how do I know if I have been accepted?
If you have submitted an application and have not heard from the department by week 6, you can assume your application has been approved. Once the department has approved your application, they forward it to the Sigma Tau Delta central office. You will receive an email from the central office by the end of the quarter once you have become registered as an official member.
I have just registered as a member. Are there any additional dues or requirements?
Once you are registered, you are a lifetime member! There are no additional fees or monthly dues once you have paid the $60 application fee. The only requirements are that you need to attend two meetings before the end of the academic year, maintain good academic standing, and meet the minimum GPA.
How can I apply to join the board?
Applications will re-open in Spring 2023. Registered Sigma Tau Delta members and current officers will have a priority application deadline earlier in the quarter. Interviews will be conducted and candidates will be selected by Week 5. Check out the "Our Team" page to learn more about the various positions and our current board members.
